Armed Suspect Holed Up in Pico Rivera Home


Surrounding homes have been evacuated for the “safety of the residents,” the sheriff’s department said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call regarding an armed barricaded suspect in a Pico Rivera neighborhood on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016.

An armed suspect was holed up inside a Pico Rivera home on Sunday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

LASD’s Special Enforcement Bureau Special Weapons Team and deputies from the Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station responded to the 8800 block of Dalewood Avenue regarding an armed barricaded suspect around noon.

Some nearby homes have been evacuated for the safety of the residents, the sheriff’s department said.

As of late Monday evening, the standoff was still ongoing. 

The circumstances leading up to the standoff were not immediately clear.
