Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in downtown Oakland that left at least eight people injured early Saturday morning, police said.

Around midnight, officers heard gunshots in the 400 block of 14th Street, where they found multiple gunshot victims, an Oakland police desk officer said.

Four females and four males — ages 17 to 28 — had been wounded, police said in a statement Saturday morning. One was in critical condition and the rest in stable condition, authorities said.

Among the wounded were the two suspects — a 21-year-old male and a 17-year-old male — who were in stable condition, police said.
