BMW Wants To Fuse 4 And 8 Series Into A New 6 Series
When BMW’s big 6 Series sedan proved to be a slow seller, the Bavarian automaker axed it. It would return not long after as today’s BMW 8 Series, but that hasn’t had a certain future either. Despite this, we heard rumors two years ago of a 6 Series revival. Now, those rumors are being reignited, but in a different way.
According to WhichCar?, the demand for coupe and convertible body styles is deteriorating as SUVs and crossovers continue to prove more popular. For this very reason, BMW wishes to expand its electrification powertrain throughout all crossover series models but, select coupe series models will soon be treated to a consolidatory rethink, and this could result in an altogether new type of 6 Series.
