Buffy Battle: Kristy Swanson and Sarah Michelle Gellar Divided Over US Election

It’s somehow apt that an iconic horror comedy should be so divided this election cycle. But that’s exactly what happened when it comes to the political views of the two stars who played Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Kristy Swanson, who starred as Buffy in the original 1992 movie, has most definitely boarded the Trump Train:

Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played the vampire slayer in the iconic TV series which ran on the WB network for seven seasons between 1997 and 2003, is voting for Hillary Clinton even though she was Republican-leaning.

Gellar said recently: “I’m proud (that) I can look at my daughter and if she asks, ‘Can I be President one day?’ I can say yes. My mother couldn’t have said that to me,” the New York native said.

“I have known that family for a very long time, I believe that there is a lot of change that can be made.”

She’s talking about the Clinton family, not the Buffy family.

Charlie Sheen, who starred with Swanson in 1994 film The Chase,  once disobligingly said about her: “If ever a thought went through that airhead of hers, it would perish from loneliness.”

Sheen recently said he didn’t like Trump because the Donald gave him some cufflinks as a wedding gift which turned out to be not all they seemed.

That surely rules out the already slim prospect of a Chase reunion any time soon…
