Fast-moving brush fire erupts above Lake View Terrace



LAKE VIEW TERRACE, LOS ANGELES —

A fast-moving brush fire erupted in the Angeles National Forest above Lake View Terrace Monday morning, threatening homes in the area.

Firefighters were working to distinguish what started as a quarter-acre brush fire in the 13300 block of Little Tujunga Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The blaze was first reported around 6 a.m.

The brush fire quickly grew to at least 5 acres by 7 a.m., according to officials from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Little Tujunga Canyon Road and Gold Creek Road were shut down as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.

Fire officials said structures in the unincorporated community of Kegal Canyon were being threatened, but no evacuation orders were set in place as of 7 a.m.

No injuries were immediately reported.
