Apple released the macOS High Sierra 10.13 operating system today for supported Macs, but if you want to install it on your computers, you’ll have to follow our instructions because the major update won’t appear in Mac App Store.

As expected, macOS High Sierra 10.13 is a major release, which means that you won’t be able to install it via the “Updates” tab of the Mac App Store app on your Mac. Therefore, you’ll have to either search for macOS High Sierra in Mac App Store or click its banner on the “Featured” tab.

Once you’ve accessed the dedicated macOS High Sierra page, you’ll have to click on the “Download” button, which will immediately present you with the macOS 10.13 High Sierra installer that will guide you through the rest of the installation process, which could take some time depending on your Internet connection.

Always make a backup of your most important files

Before attempting installing the macOS High Sierra 10.13 operating system on your Mac, check to see if your Mac is supported and you should keep in mind that a backup of your most important files might come in handy when something bad happens during the upgrade process, because of various reasons that do not depend on us.
