Jeffrey Katzenberg wants a fifth ‘Shrek’ movie

We been posting news of a possibly fifth Shrek movie on these pages for many months now, but here’s some news straight from the horses mouth on another potential outing for everyone’s favourite green ogre.

Dreamworks head-honcho Jeffrey Katzenberg was being immortalised outside the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Thursday by having his hands and feet set in concrete, and got chatting about the Shrek franchise, which is now part of Universal.

“I think there’s more to come. It’s now up to Universal. They get to decide that. I think there’s great ambition and great excitement and fantastic ideas. Shrek will be around for a long time. Longer than me.”

Dreamworks Animation was bought for nearly $4 billion by Universal’s parent company earlier this year. Expect another Shrek film as a given.

Dreamworks’ next release is the Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake starrer Trolls, which hits in October.
