Man dies after being shot in the head at Huntington Park bus stop, police say

HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif. (KABC) —

A man was shot and killed early Monday morning at a bus stop in Huntington Park, authorities said.

Officers responded at 2:30 a.m. to a call of a shooting in the 2500 block of Florence Avenue, just west of Pacific Boulevard, according to a spokesperson for the Huntington Park Police Department.

An unidentified man in his 20s was found suffering from a gunshot to the head, said police Sgt. Sidney Abraham. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives were summoned to the location, and a stretch of Florence Avenue was closed as the investigation got underway.

The Metro bus stop is serviced 24 hours a day, but it was unclear if the victim was waiting for the bus at the time of the shooting.

No other information was immediately available.
