A man who works for a mortuary is filing a report with the sheriff’s department after the mortuary’s van was stolen as they picked up a body in Lancaster, they said Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016.
A mortician’s van was stolen while workers went inside a Lancaster home to pick up a body, authorities said Sunday.
“It’s tragic to see certain people will do that to this neighborhood — to the family whose loved one is not here with us,” one of the workers said. “There’s no consideration at all. It’s disappointing.”
The truck was stolen at 8:13 p.m. on the 44700 block of 11th Street East, Sgt. Dustin Carr of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station said.
“They went to pick up a person to take them to a funeral home and when they came out it was gone,” Carr said.
The van was described as a white 2013 Dodge Caravan panel van, with California license number 7HAW371, he said.
