New York Teen Who Vanished After Going for Jog Found Dead in Woods

The body found in the woods on Long Island Wednesday morning has been identified as a 14-year-old boy who was reporting missing after he failed to return home from a morning jog this week.

Nickolas Donnelly’s body was found about 7:50 a.m. in a wooded area near in Shoreham, according to police.

Donnelly, who left for the run about 10 a.m. Tuesday, was last seen alive at home, KTLA sister station WPIX reported.

A cause of death has not been determined, but it appeared to be non-criminal, according to police.

Authorities say it was “unusual” for the Shoreham Wading River High School student to have gone missing, as he had no history of running away.

No additional information has been released.
