Nick Young Displays Unique Style at Lakers’ Game
Injuries can be tough to deal with, but for Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Nick Young, a strained calf that has the 31-year-old sidelined didn’t seem to be keeping his spirits low.
Young walked into the Lakers’ locker room ahead of Monday’s game against the Utah Jazz decked out in what can best be described as clothes that belonged in the 1970s, if they belonged anywhere. Actually, Young described the look as “Fresh out of the 70’s” when NBCLA.com decided to record Young as he peacocked around the locker room.

During Young’s strutting, veteran guard Lou Williams walked in and took a long hard look at his teammate. The room fell silent and waited for the response.
“You should feel ashamed of yourself,” Williams said to Young, as the room burst out in laughter.

But “Swaggy P” is a different type of character. No words questioning his stylistic choices could remove the beaming smile from his face. Even though he wasn’t playing, he owned the pregame locker room talk. “Uncle P” even stopped fellow injured guard D’Angelo Russell dead in his tracks.
Injured or not, Young remains one of the absolute stars of the Lakers this season. Unfortunately, he couldn’t steal the ball from his teammates and hit the game winner on this occasion.
