Six Sheriff’s Deputies Hurt, Including One Who Was Bitten
A suspect was taken into custody Thursday at the scene of a house fire in Paramount, where one sheriff’s deputy was bitten and five others suffered smoke inhalation.
The fire was reported at 3:18 p.m. in the 6500 block of San Luis Street in Paramount, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The blaze was knocked down at 3:47 p.m., a fire department inspector said.
The bitten deputy and the five who suffered smoke inhalation while trying to make sure no one was in the home and that the suspect got out safely were all taken to a hospital, as was the suspect, according to the sheriff’s department.
It’s unclear what possible charges the suspect faces or if he is alleged to have bitten the deputy.
