‘SNL’: Weekend Update Mocks Trump: ‘So Brave He Met The Man Who Founded ISIS’
What a show! ‘Saturday Night Live’ put together many hillarious sketches for their Nov. 12 episode, following the presidential election. So of course, the ‘Weekend Update’ was chalk-full of Donald Trump references, even mocking his recent meeting with President Obama!
The superstar cast members absolutely nailed it on SNL‘s Nov. 12 episode, tackling all the hot topics for a very entertaining post-election themed show. For the “Weekend Update,” Kate McKinnon portrayed Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She and Colin Jost couldn’t help but slam Donald Trump in a back-handed way, addressing his recent meeting with President Obama in the White House, saying, “He’s so brave by meeting with the man who founded ISIS.” This was obviously referencing how the President-Elect once believed Barack wasn’t a “full” American. The jokes didn’t stop there, with our personal favorite, “If you’re 70 and have no experience, you couldn’t get hired at Target.”
Dave Chappelle, 43, also had the audience in stitches with his comedic chops, serving as the host for the hit NBC series. Fans were counting down the days until the stand-up star set foot on the iconic 8H stage at Rockefeller Plaza and boy, was it worth the wait! It’s been nearly a decade since his stint on the Chappelle Show and with his recent commentary on the 2016 presidential election, we knew he was going to go all-in for one heck of a show. Known for being outspoken on social issues, Dave didn’t shy away in the least, utilizing his acting skills to really get into character! He definitely left a lasting impression!

Legendary hip-hop group, A Tribe Called Quest, even stopped by the Big Apple for their first performance since Phife Dawg tragically passed away in March. The boys are known for knocking it out of the park, and this time, they opted for two singles from their sixth and final album We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service. Making sure to address all the tension in the nation at this moment, SNL definitely hit home with their politically charged skits, switching up their usual players however. Alec Baldwin didn’t reprise his iconic Donald Trump portrayal, but Kate made her return as Hillary Clinton and wowed the crowd as usual. To finish off Nov., Kristen Wiig and indie pop band The XX will be stopping by next week!
