‘Star Wars’ Actress Carrie Fisher Suffers Heart Attack on Plane, in Critical Condition



Carrie Fisher suffered a major heart attack during a flight Friday. Reports from other passengers aboard the London-to-Los Angeles flight indicate that the Star Wars actress and writer went into cardiac arrest.

Fisher was on a promotional tour for her latest autobiography and eighth book, The Princess Diarist.

Passengers tweeted what they saw. Per their accounts, Fisher had stopped breathing at one point. Crew on the United Airlines flight attempted to revive the actress with CPR. They were assisted by an EMT, who administered life-saving measures, including CPR.

After the plane landed shortly after noon, Fisher was rushed to the hospital by paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Fisher, 60, is best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars series of films and is the author of multiple books. She is the daughter of Hollywood celebrity couple Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher.
