I absolutely love to host during the Christmas holidays. It brings me so much joy to have my family and friends over to create lasting memories together. It is always so nice to have appetizers that are easy to pull together but detailed enough to show your guests just how much you care!

I don’t know about you but I always have a couple packages of Boursin cheese in my fridge, especially around the holidays! They have a Cranberry and Pepper cheese that is so delicious – just the right amount of cranberry to add the perfect festive touch to your appetizer.  We wanted to inspire you to create some fun bites for you and your guests to enjoy at your next holiday gathering. Here are some simple steps for how we created this perfect bite. Your guests are going to love them!

The Perfect Holiday Appetizer Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 8–10 minutes
Makes 8–10 portions, plus extras for the tray


Ingredients
1 baguette (can be a day old, which works better for making the crostini)
Olive oil
Salt
1–2 Bosc pears
1 package (125g) of good quality prosciutto
Honey
1 package of Boursin® Cranberry & Pepper
Fresh sage (optional)

Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Slice the baguette into 1/4 inch thick slices. I would slice the whole baguette to make extras.

Place the slices on a baking sheet. Drizzle them with olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt. Bake in the oven for approx. 10–12 minutes until lightly toasted and golden brown. Remove from the oven and set aside.

Thinly slice the Bosc pears and set aside. (You can drizzle a small amount of lemon juice over the slices to keep them from browning too much.)

Layer one piece of the toasted baguette with a slice of pear, one piece of prosciutto, and a generous dollop of Boursin® Cranberry & Pepper.

Tip: I love using two spoons to create a neat little quenelle. I do this by scooping the contents from the first spoon onto the second spoon and transferring the cheese back and forth between the spoons until you have a nice, smooth oval shape. You could also spread a nice amount on the bottom and then add the layers on top.

Add a drizzle of honey over the top. Finish it with a small sage leaf for decoration.

We also love the idea of creating a cheeseboard/tray that features pre-made crostinis, along with the extra ingredients so guests can build one to their liking. It’s sure to be a hit at your next holiday get-together!
