This FN2 Civic Type R Has More Power Than A McLaren
So how does one squeeze that much power out of a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated engine? You add a boost of course! This car took nine years of development to complete, and through the expertise of UK-based TDI North, managed to produce record-setting numbers. The K20 engine was fitted with a Pulsar GTX3072R turbocharger along with a bigger fuel system, titanium inlet valves, Inconel exhaust valves, and the trick ECU mapping. Power is sent to the front wheels by a reinforced transmission and limited-slip differential.
The car rides on HKS Hipermax suspension, and is stopped by eight-pot calipers and 13-inch discs in the front. Surprisingly small 17-inch wheels wrapped in Advan AD08R tires handle the excessive power. The car also looks the part thanks to a carbon-fiber bonnet, Mugen-sourced fenders, and a custom wrap. Inside, a roll cage is present, as is a set of Tak bucket seats and a racing steering wheel. The car was listed for $24,761, but failed to sell, so this is your chance to bring something truly unique to our shores. Do it.
