VIDEO: Lakers Rookie Brandon Ingram’s First Pitch

Slowly but surely, Los Angeles Lakers rookie Brandon Ingram is getting more comfortable with his new home.

On Wednesday, the No. 2 overall draft pick in the 2016 NBA Draft was at Dodger Stadium, getting ready to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

“They told me not to aim it at all,” Ingram said his Laker teammates told him earlier in the day. “Just throw the ball.”

Ingram was the second consecutive top 3 draft pick selected by the Lakers and the Duke forward is expected to join the Lakers young nucleus of DeAngelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, and Julius Randle.

Ingram received a loud ovation by Dodger fans, a far cry from the reception LA Clippers point guard, Austin Rivers received when the threw out the first pitch the prior night. Rivers was booed by Dodger fans, whereas, Ingram was revered.

“We don’t have all this in Carolina,” Ingram said of the atmosphere and adjusting to life in Los Angeles. “It’s definitely different, but I like it.”

Ingram also revealed a personal secret that surprised many when he was asked by a Dodgers in-stadium host where he was going to live.

“I’m going to live in the Marina,” said Ingram. Referring to the beach community known as Marina Del Rey.

Athletes certainly like to live on the coast, but with adjacent cities like Manhattan Beach, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and Venice. The Marina was a bit of a surprise to many.

Ingram threw a slow strike that just caught the outside corner of the plate in his first-ever ceremonial first pitch. Check out the video of the toss and Ingram’s selfie interview below.
