WATCH: Mitt Romney Was Right About Everything
Mitt Romney caught a lot of grief from Democrats during the 2012 election. He was even accused of literally murdering a women with cancer. These days, Democrats wish the Republicans had nominated a presidential candidate who was more like Mitt Romney. It’s confusing.
Romney was widely mocked for, among other things, describing Russia as the top “geopolitical threat” to the United States. Here’s a portion of the transcript from President Obama’s speech at the Democratic convention in 2012:
After all, you don’t call Russia our number one enemy — not al- Qaida, Russia — (laughter) — unless you’re still stuck in a Cold War mind warp. (Cheers, applause.)
These days, Democrats are terrified of Russian cyberattacks, and efforts to influence the outcome of the election. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter agrees with Romney, and lists Russia as the top foreign threat to the United States. Time flies.
Romney was also criticized for suggested the United States should leave some troops in Iraq to prevent, for example, a chaotic takeover by a psychopathic death squad such as ISIS. Since winning reelection, Obama has been gradually sending U.S. soldiers back to Iraq.
Romney and other Republicans repeatedly warned that Obamacare would be a disaster, that costs would rise and keep rising. Obama insisted that they wouldn’t, that everything would be fine. Really?
