Western Digital My Cloud Storages Receive Firmware 2.11.164 – Update Now

Western Digital has just rolled out firmware 2.11.164 developed for its My Cloud Mirror, My Cloud EX2, and My Cloud EX4, which manages to resolve the issue where multiple users and groups couldn’t be created or imported.

In addition to that, the current update also implements a few fixes for the events where users weren’t able to toggle ON/OFF the product improvement option or open a technical support case from the dashboard.

In order to benefit from these improvements, simply save the downloadable .bin package, log into the device’s dashboard, go to Settings > Firmware Update > Manual Update, and click the “Update From File” button.

Now, navigate and select the firmware file, click “OK” to allow the device to initiate the upgrade process, and wait for the NAS to do its job. Bear in mind that, first it will transfer the software and then start the installation.

Even if it seems like an easy task, make sure you don’t interrupt the process by rebooting the devices or terminating the connection, as this will lead to an update failure, which can also cause serious device malfunctions or render it unable to boot.

With this in mind, go ahead and download WD My Cloud Personal Storage Firmware 2.11.164, apply it to your storage, and enjoy your newly-increased security level.
