What If Porsche Designed The Dodge Charger Daytona?
Pretty much all of the important aspects of the auto industry have ground to a halt because of the coronavirus outbreak. Some dealerships have remained open, pivoting towards online sales, but the manufacturing side of the business remains at a standstill, meaning car designers are sitting at home with little to do. But at FCA, creative minds got to work, and head designers created a challenge for fans to submit their interpretation what a future Ram pickup truck would look like. And to get contestants inspired, a modern version of the Dodge Rampage pickup truck was rendered.
And other designers in the auto industry clearly took notice.
While not technically an entrant into the competition – it’s clearly not a truck – an exterior designer from Kia Motors Europe named Marcell Sebestyen did come up with a clever, Mopar-inspired rendering. What you see here is a mashup between a Porsche 911 and a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Daytona Edition. It’s completely strange but we kind of love it.
