Wisconsin Reportedly Receives Formal Request to Recount The Vote

It may not be a ‘November Surprise’ but many thought no recount or audit of the vote would happen.

However, the BBC has reported, without further detail, that the State of Wisconsin has received an official request for a recount.

Update: CNN reports that the Green Party asked for the recount.

Late Friday afternoon, the Wisconsin Elections Board said it had received the petition from Stein and the Green Party.

Before his victory on Nov 8th, Donald Trump suggested that the vote might be ‘rigged’. Secretary Clinton has made no public statement on the matter other than her concession speech.

And while she called for a smooth transition of power, requests for recounts and audits are a normal part of the electoral process in America.

Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, was reportedly raising funds over the weekend for the recount. It is not known yet if Secretary Clinton will ask for a recount or audit of the vote in any state.
