Women at the Today Show Want Billy Bush Chastised; Plan to Strike Over Donald Trump Tape

When the video of Donald Trump making lewd remarks about Nancy O’Dell surfaced on Friday, people were absolutely furious — but the world wasn’t just angry with Trump.

The other man in the video, Billy Bush, an entertainment reporter for the Today Show is also in hot water for his apparent affirmation of the Republican Presidential candidate’s allegedly misogynistic and sexist comments.

Despite this, Bush will reportedly return to work tomorrow almost completely unaffected by his involvement in the video with an insider telling People “there have been no discussions of any type of disciplinary action.”

Bush released a statement apologizing for the 2005 video on Friday evening, saying: “Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed. It’s no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago — I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry.”

The video features Trump boasting about kissing, groping and trying to have sex with women, and his lewd comments have been universally condemned.

Now the women who work at the Today Show are reportedly planning to strike in protest against the network’s handling of the issue, demanding that Bush be chastised.

Senior justice writer for New York Daily News weighed in on the situation, tweeting that: “The Today show should also fire Billy Bush. He was loving it. Affirmed Donald Trump in the beginning, middle and end. “

There was speculation that Bush may have deleted his Twitter account immediately after the video surfaced, but it was actually deleted back in August. The host was the top trending Twitter topic on Friday with almost 80,000 mentions.

After making the actor Arianne Zucker hug Trump, Bush adds, “How about a little hug for the Bushy?”

Others are saying the video, surfacing after 11 years, has become a storm in a tea cup despite the fact that both men were married and with children even back then.

For people thinking this is as bad as it will get for the Trump camp, the producer ofThe Apprentice tweeted a warning.
